Ad Hoc
Ad Hoc | Specialized
The Ad-Hoc committee is a staple of the AmeriMUNC, and will be making a well-deserved return this year for AmeriMUNC XIII. This advanced crisis committee is distinct from any other committee at AmeriMUNC XIII, as all of the committee’s materials will be kept hidden from delegates until the conference begins. Background guides and character biographies will not be sent out with the traditional pre-conference materials, but will instead be presented to the delegates as they start their first committee session of the weekend. As a result, delegates will be unaware of the situation that awaits them, their role within the committee, and even the powers they can call on throughout the weekend to achieve their goals.
Unlike traditional Model UN committees, delegates will not be expected to perform preliminary research of any kind, but instead will be required to adapt to the situation presented, work on their feet to formulate their plans, and quickly set them in motion to achieve their goals. The Ad-Hoc committee is designed to push delegates outside of their comfort zone via its unorthodox topics, and focus on improvisation, and as a result, strengthen their Model UN skills.
