Registration Deadline: Saturday, September 30, 2017
Hello and welcome to the Washington International Relations Conference at American University! We thank you for interest in attending WIRC and for taking the time to register for our conference. To complete registration, we need three things:
School Registration Form (below)
Payment in full (mailed check)
Delegate Session Preference Form - this should be completed by each delegate
All three tasks must be completed by the registration deadline, Saturday, September 30, 2017.
WIRC is a one-day Model United Nations training conference held on the campus of American University. This year, our conference will feature two personalized morning training sessions. In session one, delegates will be able to choose between MUN 101 (beginner), MUN 201 (advanced), Crisis, and Leadership Development. In session two, delegate will be able to choose between public speaking, committee writing, and committee research. This allows for a personalized training experience based on a delegate’s experience and interests. Then, after both workshop sessions, delegates get to employ their new knowledge with interactive afternoon simulations. WIRC offers various committees and topics on a breadth of subjects to let delegates practice what we preach: a diplomatic and collaborative approach to Model UN.
In order to complete registration, every student attending needs to fill out their own Session Preference Form to indicate their preferences for which training sessions they would like to attend. Committee and country assignments for our afternoon simulations will be assigned and distributed at the end of registration. Detailed descriptions of each training session and simulation will be listed on our website in the upcoming weeks.
